Filipino Culture Highlighted in TLC’s “Pista sa Nayon” Celebration This Year

The celebration of Buwan ng Wika at TLC this year was made more colorful with the institution’s staging of the Pista sa Nayon last August 27–29, 2025. As part of the festivities, students showcased their intellect, talent, and Filipino spirit by excelling in various fields.

On the first day of the Pista, participants’ intellect was tested through the Quiz Bee, Essay Writing, and Singing Contest. Cheers and applause filled the venue on the second day with the Laro ng Lahi (traditional Filipino games) and Harana, which revived the games and music that shaped Filipino culture. The celebration concluded with the Pantomina sa Tinampo, the historic Bicolano dance symbolizing love and unity.

The school gymnasium was filled with joyful smiles from students and teachers dressed in barong and saya as the Pista sa Nayon came to a close. Truly, this year’s Buwan ng Wika was a historic celebration, serving as a reminder of the importance of recognizing and embracing our own language and heritage.

Meanwhile, this event was made possible through the efforts of the SAMAFIL (BED Organization) and SAS Office, which took the lead in organizing the celebration.
